We did not stay here but we visited a few times. We had a spa day which was delightful. When you pay the price they charge you expect nothing less than tip notch service and it was certainly delivered. The staff, service, spa rooms, all equaled an amazing experience. We ate at the wine garden twice and found the staff to be very friendly. Food was also very good!

I assisted a photographer for bridal pictures. This place is beautiful. If you are looking for a beautiful back drop for wedding pictures you would not be disappointed.

Great old world feel with modern standards and friendly helpful staff. Nicely positioned right in the middle of downtown. Not being able to make early morning coffee in the room cost a star.

Went to lunch in The Garden, it was excellent. I had the burger specialty with a cup of tomato soup. Service was excellent seating was outside near the waterfall, comfortable and intimate feeling. The staff were all great, seating was a breeze. Register with the hostesses and the immediately sent a text with a specific wait time. Were were able to do some shopping in the unique gift shop, and when out table was ready we recieved another text. Table service was impeccable. The food was amazing. Prices were reasonable and posted on the menus you could review before e end starting in. Even though it was busy, we never felt rushed to finish. An excellent experience we plan to partake of again soon.

We went here for a nice lunch. We were seated rather quickly in the Garden. Our seats were near the waterfall. Waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. The food was superb. I had the burger and the cook was spot on. The Tomato bisk was creamy and just right. We had a trout dip with special crackers. The prices were as expected. A very enjoyable experience and we will be going back.

Incredible spa experience. We did the blue mountain couples shower and then stayed at the spa for the rest of the day. Meditation room was divine. Took a nap and then had lunch - amazing service. Reasonable price and incredible experience. My wife and I are going to do this every time we come to Highlands/Cashiers. The entire staff was amazing. Particularly Sparkle, Mitchell, and Aaron.

This is one of the nicest restaurants in Highlands North Carolina. The ambience is wonderful. It's a quiet restaurant the inside is very comfortable. The food is typically extremely good.

A 5 star establisment obviously. But I never actually stayed in the hotel. I've eaten at the restaurant and I have been to the bar. It's very nice but expensive. Not for tacky tourists. You should dress nice and try not to act like a redneck if you go here.

World-class resort. Staff is extremely professional and helpful. The resort grounds are gorgeous, and the original part of the Inn has so much character and charm. If you plan to eat at Madison's, be sure to make a reservation well in advance. It books up very quickly on holiday weekends. Old Edwards is the class of Highlands NC.

Truly cannot say enough good things about this place. Staff is friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable of the area. The room (we stayed in a private cottage) was phenomenal! The atmosphere of the entire facility is simply perfection. Made our honeymoon visit truly something magical!

We honeymooned here and it was beautiful! The staff and everyone was so nice and helpful from our arrival to our departure! I loved the heated floors in the bathroom in our room and the fact that they had free ice cream bars!! The bed was so amazingly comfortable it made me not want to get up and explore! I would recommend everyone visit at least once!

BEAUTIFUL! Breakfast is amazing too. The Hummingbird lounge is very nice and perfect for an after dinner glass of wine and dessert! Didn't try the spa due to time restraints but EVERYONE tells me it's so worth it - it's on my list for the next time we visit.

Was looking for a wedding venue, and the folks were more than a little pushy, as well as constantly asking my budget, as if when I don't blink at their asking price that I'm wasting their time.

Historic Inn in Highlands NC, all the elegance of the past. Off season in Highlands has it's advantages including lower prices and availability. However Highlands can be a sleepy winter town and not all nearby stores will be open, particularly on weekdays.

One of the best stays I've had and my husband and I travel a lot. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit the best it could be. Our room was wonderful and I did love the heated floors and towel rack, the deep tub was great as well. Our spa treatments were awesome ,very refreshing and relaxing. We spent over 5 hours just soaking up the peacefulness of the spa. Facials, messages, pedi and lunch in our robes was the best. What better way to spend the day on a cold winter day! Thanks to all the staff that went out of their way to make our stay the best it could have been. A special thank you to Lauren, Elizabeth, John and the whole spa staff. What a wonderful experience it was.

Absolutely amazing experience. The rooms are luxurious, modern, and cozy. Now I want heated bathroom floors at home! The grounds are breathtaking. The staff is above and beyond friendly, diligent, knowledgeable, and helpful. Every aspect of our stay has been thoughtful and hospitable. The value of this stay has exceeded the cost for us. We will be staying here in the future. Highly recommended.

The menu is not extensive and the choices they offer are simple but they do them very well. I had a serving of their chicken salad over a Caesar salad and it was delicious! The waitress was very attentive despite the restaurant being at capacity.

We ate breakfast with friends before enjoying the sites of Highlands, NC. Simply said, the food and service was superb along with the hospitality. We got recommendations on sites to see and places to go without asking. It was a great way to stay our day.

Location is great - right in downtown Highlands, so everything is nearby including the Old Edwards Inn Spa.
Rooms are luxurious, comfortable, and look classy. Bathrooms are really nice - bath and a separate shower, heated floors, and a classy white look.
Service is also great. Everyone is polite, professional, and also friendly enough like almost everyone in Highlands.

We had a nice enough stay in the historic Piermont Cottage. The house is quite old and has a lot of historic character, yet remains pretty comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked and there is dining space for a big party. Plenty of TVs and bathrooms mean a comfortable stay even for larger groups. Unfortunately, it's not all good. The beds are exceptionally hard and caused me to toss and turn, ultimately waking up quite tired each morning. The old house also creaks, the doors are hard to close in some rooms, and the windows lack soundproofing, treating us and other guests to a symphony of morning truck traffic.

We had breakfast and a dinner in at Madison's. While a pretty space with attentive service, the food is mediocre, particularly in light of the prices. Highlands is many things, but a hotbed of great cuisine it isn't, and Madison's is no exception.

This was one of the best inns I've ever stayed at. The staff were very friendly. The rooms are amazing!!! Loved the heated floors and bath tub! This is a great place to stay if you want a romantic getaway! Oh, and the restaurant in the inn is absolutely amazing!!!! Great food!

The house we stayed in for a wedding had loads of character but rock hard beds. It was a great setting for a wedding.

The service was great across the board, and they were eager to make the stay wonderful. Our breakfast at Madison was pretty awful and overpriced but the hotel itself was otherwise lovely.

My wife and I spent a evening there last week. We stayed in one of the Cottages in the back of the property. It was comfortable and very pleasant. We wine with a snack at the Wine garden when we first arrived. We had dinner at Madison's that evening. We ordered room service for breakfast and ate on the porch in the morning. All three meals were wonderful. The staff is friendly and the service is excellent. We will be going back there again.

Second time staying at Old Edwards and it did not disappoint! The accommodations are worth every penny! My first time taking advantage of the Spa and it was hands downs one of the best Spa experiences I've ever had! This was about my fourth time having breakfast at Madison's and I have to say the breakfast was not up to my expectations, based solely on previous visits. The service was spot on as usual but the food was not all that spectacular, my biscuits were cold, bacon was salty ( I am a saltaholic so this is really saying something) and just an overall disappointment. Maybe a new cook? Not sure but whatever it was was truly not as it was two years ago or any of the previous times I've eaten there. Overall, Highly recommend The Old Edwards Inn & Spa, may hesitate before having Madison's again.
