A wonderful icon of the Skyline! History galore and a story around every corner.

Great shopping on the lower level, great bar on the main floor and spectacular decor.

However, tucked neatly behind the building is the gem, double pool with out door bar, with servers. Ahhh, nearly an island get away, all this is beach side.

Beautiful, historic hotel with a great beach for the whole family to enjoy. One of my favorite beaches to visit and the beach bed & chairs for rent really kick it up a notch. Staff is very friendly and helpful although the servers on the beach took an hour to take our order (once they realized we were there they came back more frequently). Restaurants and shops are very nice and it's a central location if you're wanting to explore the area. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.

Always a wonderful time at the Don! Great place to get away for a little Stay-cation. Servers at the pool bar are pleasant and the food is good. We got a couple of their specialty island drinks and a couple of the fish tacos, definitely the right kind of vibe for a beach weekend. Can’t wait for our next trip out there!

My friend and I spent 4 nights at the Don Cesar for a girl's trip. The hotel and the beach are breathtaking. Lisa, the concierge, went out of her way to share bits of history regarding the Don. The bellhop, Scott, was extremely helpful the first day we arrived and found there was a miscommunication regarding our room reservation. The entire staff, from the front desk to the doormen, to the restaurant staff were so friendly and welcoming. Our room was immaculate, as was the entire hotel.

Just walked through the hotel because I've always wondered what it looked like inside.. My wife and I had a few drinks at the lobby bar and had a great experience. Bartender was very knowledgeable and personable and offered some sweet and spicy nut mix to enjoy while we took in the atmosphere of a spacious old time hotel. Would love to be able to stay a night or two here.

Lovely hotel with pink. Good sunset. And service was good. But always lots people so very crowded at the pool. And one couple was smoked at the pool around 6pm but worker didn’t care about that but it’s just happened sometimes because crazy person. Food was ok but too small and very expensive.

Really cool place! This place is one big Castle. Located right on St Pete Beach. Amazing views and sunsets. This hotel has a ton of history. Really neat looking at it throughout the hallways and old pictures. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Rowe bar has great views as well with the deck and upper deck fire pits by the couches. Downfall was the FOOD! Just seems blah, not a lot of variety or effort going in the kitchen. This place should be booming with high end kitchen talent. Just seems like another corporate hotel food gain. Nothing to go brag about. Other than that a pleasant place to visit and go to.

If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around...

Great stay with a two year old and 11 month old! Room was spacious for the kids to crawl around and play (suite). Ground floor nice for early morning strolls before everyone woke up! Super helpful for our family! Highly recommend. No fridge or microwave in the room however when requested - concierge brought up immediately.

A little dated--rooms are small but you can't overlook the wonderful hospitality. The hotel is quite stately. You feel like you have finally arrived in life! The fitness center is better than many hotels and there is even a separate yoga room. A private beach complete with umbrella, chair, cabana and airbed rentals make this hotel well worth a try.

Classy hotel! Good food, attentive but unobtrusive staff. The valet was fabulous. He remembered us and we didn’t have to give him our valet ticket, he just brought up our car when he saw us. That really made me feel special.

We were there for our son's wedding. The food was superb. The servers at our table were great. Constantly checking on us to see if we needed anything. The ambiance was wonderful. Low lighting, lit candles. Romantic atmosphere. Just hard getting a handicap parking spot. The door we went to enter the building had a button to open the door. It didn't work. No staff around to bring that to the facility's attention. The handicapped bathroom I used was clean & large enough for me, my husband & my wheelchair. My husband & I are both big too.

An amazing hotel filled with so much history. The pool and the beach are great. Prompt service. There are complementary bike rentals if you want to explore the area. Restaurants all had great food. Food and drinks are pricey, but that is too be expected. Each night in the lounge there was musical entertainment. So lovely!

The Hotel is Lovely and Plush! The staff goes out of their way to please you. The restaurants within the hotel serve delicious food and beverages.
Outstanding employees: maid service is cheerful, baggage porter trustworthy, maintenance on top of their game, waitresses and waiters make sure your happy and pleased, front desk personnel friendly and answer everything on your request.
Highly Enjoyed this Location!
P.S
The King Mattress is to 'die for', where could I buy one?

Renovations are fantastic! The new owners have done a great job of sprucing the place up and empowering staff to do whatever it takes to accommodate their guests!
Chrissy is a server and bartender and she makes you feel special and that she is concerned about your experience. She is also super friendly and nice.
Go and enjoy some local flavor!

I visited the ice cream parlour inside. There was a large variety of flavors to choose from. The prices weren't much different from any other Mom n' Pop ice cream shop, and were actually a little lower in some orders. The only complaint I had was the parking. Unless you're a guest at this hotel, there weren't many options for quick parking (that I could see) without having to pay a chunk of change. It'd be nice to have a few 10min max parking spots so that you can get your ice cream without the fear of your car getting ticketed or towed.

This has got to be one of the coolest hotels I've stayed at, just the architectural appeal alone was worth the stay. Staff was super friendly and helpful, check in and check out was as smooth as can be. The pools and beach access are awesome and centrally located. The rooms are well appointed and clean. Will be staying here from now on when I visit St. Pete.

The Don CeSar reminded me of The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. The elegance, attention to detail, quality of staff, and the "wow" factor of such a historic hotel. It was picturesque and beautiful. The beach has rental options for queen bed cabanas ($100 daily for guests, $200 for non-guests), which are quite nice. Overall highly recommended.

Interesting, historical hotel on the beach. The pool area offered a nice activity area for foosball, table tennis and the like. Great sunsets. Good foyer bar for connecting with folks. The Rowe was a picturesque outdoor lounge. The rooms were small but clean. The bathroom was very tight, and they were stingy with their towels. The decor was pleasing. We were here for a conference. The banquet food was better than most hotel/conference facilities. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. I did not use their spa facilities so I cannot comment on that. Overall, it was a pleasant visit.

We went to the 90th anniversary of the Don Cesar. The event was fantastic. Great food, and atmosphere. The staff were all so welcoming and attentive from our first steps into the lobby and throughout the evening. It's a very pretty place and we're looking forward to another visit!

Classy florida hotel- our room was clean and had a great Florida beach feel to it. EXCELLENT customer service. Staff was very polite attentive and professional. It was a pleasure staying at this hotel. They had some renovations going on in rooms across the hall from us but were pretty good about keeping noise level down and no work equipment in the hallways so it did not affect our experience. Great ice cream and coffee shop downstairs. Wish we had more time to enjoy other hotel amenities but had lots of activities outside the hotel planned and it was chilly so didn't get to the pool or hot tub. Maybe next time!

I would like to give them minus five stars! We reserved a king with an ocean front view with a blacony for our ten year anniversary, we called to confirm and requested an email with details. We got the email with description of a gulf view balcony with gulf view! We arrived at 4:45 and were told that it wasn't ready. Weird as check in is at 4:00. Went into other room to call housekeeping. Then came back and said it was under maintenance. Then they tried to put us in a queen, gulf view which the windows opened six inches. I don't think so. Checked back out immediately. So thoroughly disappointed with the service. I bet they gave our room away to someone else. Very Nice response from the hotel. I see you take no responsibility in your or the actions of the employees... You are sorry......so sad.....you, Courtney L are so fake with your cookie cutter response with NO ACTION..................
I am truly sorry to hear that your experience with us did not meet your expectations and I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. Best, Courtney L. The Don Cesar.

Courtney did nothing to resolve the problem. The new manager Chris Jennings contacted us and resolved the issue to our satisfaction. Although we still didn’t get exactly what we were looking for, and it was a little chillier out, we stayed there and had a great time. Thanks Chris Jennings for taking the time to make it right.

So disappointed with the Sunday Brunch buffet (29.00). No imagination, nothing special and (I am still laughing at this) the carving station consisted of fried chicken and waffles. Seriously? The food we had was good, not great, and we didn't leave hungry. The bottomless Mimosas (16.00) were the deal of the day, maybe to make you forget about the buffet. This was on our Mom's 'Bucket List' and it was a Special Birthday. We will probably find a better brunch buffet for our next adventure.

I went to a wedding/reception at this hotel. Ceremony was on the beach and they did a great job of setting up the seating and having staff directing guests along the way. The reception was on the roof-top ballroom with a nice view from the balcony.

The bartender and servers did an excellent job and the food was very tasty. I would definitely recommend them to someone looking for an event venue.

We've been staying at the Don since 1990, through all the changes. My wife and I believe these owners are far better than the previous.
They've retained much of the staff, and the staff is very excited, energized, and happy.
No downside to the change.
The Don is back, and so are we,.
We'll be going back all winter long.

Classic, luxurious hotel with multiple bars and a 5 star restaurant. Rooms are pricey, but the service is excellent. All of the food was very tasty and the prices are reasonable for a resort. Be careful though, I witnessed a very serious breach of privacy while I was a guest: When I asked for my room charges, they accidentally printed them out on a full list of guests and their check-in/check-out date. Unacceptable for this modern era.

I came here with my girlfriend to see the historic hotel, grab lunch, and propose on the beach. The hotel is beautiful and very charming inside. It's been updated but they maintained much of it's historic charm. My now fiance loved it as well.

Exceptional location and extremely accommodating team across the board from the welcoming valet who greet you to the helpful beach rental fellows to the delightful 24-hour (full menu) in-room dining staff to the incredibly impeccable housekeeping team. This is officially my favorite place to stay. It sets the bar and does NOT disappoint.

Historical Luxury Beach Resort. Sold and updated a few years ago to entice a new crowd. Lost it's charm with the addition of big TV's in the Hotel Bar which in the past had a real feel of a cozy place to visit. Rooms are small but updated and that's a plus. Elevator still slow, great pool service. If only people would leave their kids home....

We've lived in this area for years, and have had occasion to visit the Don when friends were in town or for dinner or special events. But we'd never actually stayed there before. My wife and I both love the history of this beautiful property, and the architecture represents an outstanding example of a bygone age. So we thought it would be fun to spend a night there for our anniversary. The interior has been thoughtfully and elegantly renovated, and the room was phenomenal. We were most impressed by the courtesy of a very engaging staff. Every employee we met (and we met a lot of staff) was friendly, outgoing, and courteous. I asked the concierge in advance to make sure there was a particular soda in the room for my wife, and even though the hotel does not stock it, they went out and bought it and made sure it was waiting for us on our arrival. We had booked a Gulf view balcony room, and they upgraded us upon our arrival to the best available room, which turned out to be the Gulf view Penthouse suite! Now you can't expect that sort of treat every time you stay there, but we thought the management was both incredibly thoughtful and generous to do that for us. In fact, the front desk staff were clearly genuinely happy and excited to deliver the good news to us. We used room service and the Spa, and again, the staff impressed us with their skill and courtesy. The linens, the towels, the bathrooms - everything was just top notch. We've stayed at lovely hotels all over, but the Don Cesar just set the bar higher than we've ever experienced. If you're coming to the area, this is THE hotel to try.

This has to be my favorite hotel of all time. It sits on the beautiful white beaches of St Pete. The hotel is beautifully kept, preserving it's historic feel but still having all the mod cons you expect. It has 2 great pools and a hot tub that surround a full bar with seating for lunch. There are other restaurants and bars on site along with boutique stores and an ice cream parlor.
The staff are wonderful and many of them have worked there for years and it's lovely to see familiar faces. This will always be my happy place!

Awesome little ice cream Nook downstairs. It's the Don... what can you really need say about it? It's an incredible pink birthday cake of a historic building right on the pristine white sand beach... You're going to pay more to stay there, but they have everything, they take incredible care of you, and it's the Don...

This is a beautiful beachfront front property with some pretty unique amenities in terms of free kids camp and free kids toys on the beach, but the rooms are tiny and there were lots of extra charges from parking to use of a microwave and/or use of refrigerator. With a hotel of this caliber I would have expected some of those things (if not all) to be included. I was traveling with my infant daughter and needed a place to store breast milk and a way to sterilize breast pump parts which explains the need for a frigerator and a microwave. The room was pretty cramped already and once we had those extras it was even more cramped. There are lots of on-site things to do which is nice, but make sure to plan to pay for most of them.

The BEST!!! The room (we stayed in 121) was fantastic! (I will post photos later). Sure it wasn't a great view but we didn't spend any time looking out the window. The pool & beach were wonderful places to spend time, always clean and well kept. The service there was second to none. I would definitely come again.

fantastic place.... the old world charm of this place makes you feel like you walked into the 20s. The outdoor bar and pool butting up against the beach makes grabbing cocktails and hitting the gulf super easy. Plus they have bar and food service on beach so you never have to even leave your lounge chair if you don't want to!

Having company in town we decided to bring them down to the dawn for lunch. We spent about an hour walking around the facility reading about the history of the building it has been beautifully updated with artwork lighting the building itself is just beautiful . We went out back enjoy drinks around the pool and a lovely afternoon in the sun on a beaut the beautiful beach of St Petersburg. A little later we went back into one of the restaurants had a delightful lunch and I must say this is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

Great visit!! Loved the historic feel and resort accommodations. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They even sent a handwritten note wishing my wife and I a Happy Anniversary with a goodie tray. It was a nice touch to a great stay.

Very clean and Loved the beds!

The hotel is very nice, lots of dining options, pretty vegetarian/vegan friendly. The pool is amazing, the ocean is just right outside the pool gates. The only negative thing about the whole experience is that you have to rent chairs and umbrellas for the beach. The rental runs about $50 per day for two chairs and an umbrella. The whole staff is very friendly and accommodating. Everyone goes out of their way to help in whatever way possible.

Well it said I stopped here. To tell you the truth I stopped at the red light by it so I guess that counts. Since we are here let's write a review. Last I checked it had 277 rooms 40 Suites 3 restaurants. It is one of St Petes most iconic hotels for some of the Pampered rich and famous. The color is awesome you can see it from most beaches. It also creates a lot and I mean a lot of traffic congestion because everybody is taking pictures with their cell phone their camera instead of driving and paying attention to the light. However with all that being said it is still a beautiful gorgeous pink hotel your kids will love it especially if they have a thing for princesses. LOL

Can't think of a lovelier place for a family weekend. The rooms were small, but elegant and comfortable, the service was gracious and efficient and there was something for everyone. The children loved the kids camp. We all loved the pools and the beach. We will definitely go back.

Didn't really get to see much. Want to take a tour, but will have to go back. They're only at 2. A little overwhelming, but only bc we've never been there before. It's a beautiful building. Hopefully, we'll go back for the tour before heading home.

Who else better to give a review of this glorious landmark than a past employee!
Having had the honor and pleasure to have been with this hotel for just under 10 years,I know all the secrets! She is as she appears! A true and beautiful lady, the care given to her was 1st class, and still is ! Those working here do so out of love , I would ask those staying with her to judge her by her history, and her beauty, and love her as we do,she is truly one of a kind never to be repeated.

We had such a wonderful stay here! The hotel is absolutely stunning and the service was great! We really loved sitting on the beach and having lunch and listening to the live music in the lobby at night. The spa was wonderful as well. We will definitely be back! Thanks for making our vacation so perfect!
