Been there once in lifetime, and the experience was great. Was hooking to spend 4 nights there coming from the rural community only to end up not going due to appointments canceled and rescheduled. Recommended for all first timers experience

Nice older hotel. Very large and clean rooms. Went down to breakfast and the crowd was fighting over the food so I went to breakfast elsewhere.

Black mold around tub caulking, worn carpets, hole in shears and shears hung inches below drapes. Lace needs to be updated. However, staff was friendly and breakfast was fine. Beds were comfortable.

I've had some issues with my room key and the shuttle, but otherwise staff have been super helpful and the room is so comfortable!

Great location when flying in/out of Anchorage airport. Good (free) breakfast in the morning, nice customer service, clean and spacious rooms, free fish freezer, and a cool workout room. The guest laundry room was being overhauled while we were there, so we had to hit a local laundromat before flying out (all out of clean clothes after camping in the wild for a week).

Nice place very friendly staff. I wasn't there for very long but the service I got was impeccable I can highly recommend.

The room was clean from initial inspection, towels and bath products were provided. Same with some hot chocolate and a hot water dispenser. There are a microwave and mini refrigerator in the room as well. The room lacked basic items such as a clicker for the tv. The tv volume wasn't adjustable and was so loud it was unwatchable due to disturbing other guests. Staff at 1 am at the front desk were uninterested in providing a remote.

Several light fixtures were missing their glass portion. Switches were missing plastic covers leaving bare metal to be manipulated by hand and the metal was often times sharper than expected. The bathroom light is a 4ft fluorescent bulb that flickers for 10+ mins before finally providing real illumination.

Staff was either somewhat helpful or looked annoyed when asked basic questions at night. Many spent a lot of time sitting on their phones or engrossed with their computers.

The morning staff showed more interest in getting things fixed. Will update if I ever stay there again.

nice clean room, great breakfast...24 hour shuttle and wonderful parking policy...the stay here is cheaper than paying for parking at the airport...makes traveling outside much more relaxing

My stay was okay, not bad but nothing special either. The room was big, had a refrigerator, microwave, flat screen TV, and the standard amenities.

They advertise online as being newly renovated; this is misleading. They may have slapped some paint up here and there, but I wouldn't call it renovated. The bathroom caulk is pealing and dirty, the tile grout is cracking and missing in places, and overall the place feels "well lived in". It's not a bad place to stay, but it was very disappointing to be expecting something that was updated to find it really needs to be renovated again.

I feel what I paid, $65 for the night (out the door), was a reasonable value for the room; I expected more because I got it 50% off regular price on special from Travelocity. I wouldn't pay anymore for this place than I did. For less than their normal prices you can get a motel in the same area with the same feel and amenities.

If you're expecting a renovated hotel, you'll be disappointed to find yourself at a typical motel. I'm not saying it's bad, just don't pay more than I did for a room.

The Alex always gives me what I look for. They have great rates, a 24 hour airport shuttle, great location, clean rooms, and most of all, GREAT SERVICE !!# I travel to and from Alaska monthly for work and the Alex is my stay ofchoice

The room was spacious and comfortable. The full kitchen was a nice benefit for those who don't want to eat TV dinners or eat out. For a nice touch they included some dishes in the cupboard. Staff was friendly and helpful. My singular complaint was the lack of cable TV however with free Internet there were plenty of entertainment options.

Epically OK!. A really nice and well taken care of property. The staff is fantastic in every aspect. The rooms were big with huge ceilings and a gave a feeling of warmth and comfort. Reasonable prices and a fine staff make for a great stay. I'll be back!!!

Extra large room with basic furnishings. Breakfast is free, but very simple. Housekeeping service ran really late, one time when we came back at 5pm, they were still cleaning the room; next day, they came at 4:15pm, and they can't come back at later time, so we only asked for clean towels without cleaning the room.

Great hotel, large rooms, nice size bathroom and wonderful restaurant. 100% recommend the restaurant.

This hotel felt like it was good at some point in time. My wife and I had a corner room on the 5th floor. It was oddly shaped (as many corner rooms are) which was fine. It was very spacious with 2 desks a fridge and microwave. There were quite a few oddities about the room. There is a thermostat that appears to have no impact on the room's temperature. There is another AC unit that is used for that. Our tv was not working properly. It felt like the remote was not properly programmed because only a few buttons would work. I loved that there was a sink outside of the toilet/shower area, and thst area had its own sink. However, there were other negatives in the bathroom. The plug for the bath was broken (didn't care because we didn't use it), and the light over the shower was controlled by what looks to be a hot tub timer that was also installed upside down. The room overall was sufficient, and the staff was nice. I am just not sure how a hotel can care at all and let these things slide.

Serves breakfast! Good location, close to the airport and most floatplane companies that do tours over Anchorage. Front desk staff not the friendliest.

Room was ok...Pillow too firm....Staff nice, especially the young guy at the breakfast dinner room in the morning, he was very helpful...but if you need internet , forget it... WiFi is so bad... impossible to do whatever you need...if you call reception , the answer is.. lot people is on internet...but for me going sometimes in las vegas with 2000 rooms and very good internet, this answer is very bad..For me internet is very important...

Just a place to sleep while touring around Anchorage.

Didn't get to experience the entire Hotel but the rooms were very pleasant in the beds were extremely comfortable.

Alex suites are near tbe airport. The rooms have refrigerators and microwaves and seem roomy. The conference room is attractive for meetings and group activities.

The staff of the Alex Hotel and Suites could be more curteous. I felt like I was being judged for checking in in the early morning hours. I had just got done drivijg from Fairbanks and was very tired.

Definitely one of the area's cheaper hotels, and your experience will likely reflect that in some way. For us, it was noise coming from inside the walls, which we had to change rooms to avoid. However, the room was warm, the bed was cozy, it's close to the airport (free shuttle too), and best of all, it's cheap!

Great rooms and incredibly spacious and clean. The staff ruined it. Horrible customer service. This is the first and last time I will ever stay in this hotel. Staff was rude and made me feel like an inconvenience.

The room was spacious and updated. The cleanliness could have been better the sheets had some stains and there were piles of garbage out side some of the rooms in the hall ways. For the most part it was a good hotel.

Plesant staff, comfortable accommodations. Complementary breakfast is basic but nice.

Business hotel that could use better Internet coverage. In the middle is adequate, but the further out you get to the sides of the building, the wifi is not useable. Breakfast buffet is one of the better in Anchorage, but construction needs to be finished. A decent stop that is getting better.

This is two solid stars which is what it it shown as, it is cheap though, and if you need to crash at a low cost Spenard hotel, this is ok

Good views from most rooms. Great location, if you need something close by to Anchorage airport. They run a shuttle back and forth pretty much round the clock. Only caveat is general maintenance could be better. Look for some good deals on accommodation..!!

Visiting from Fairbanks because Fairbanks blows, Alex was the cheapest place we could find that didn't have a pool same-day. Their summer rates (everyone's summer rates) skyrocket for sure! For a basic room, 2 adults and 2 kids, $204. $204! This is our first year in Alaska so these prices are outrageous to us. The breakfast was better than nothing but nothing exciting for sure. Only thing I was glad to see was one of the waffle irons where you can pour and cook your own. Only cheep syrup and butter for toppings. No fruit or whipped topping. If it seems like I'm nit picking on a cheap hotel it's because it was $204!...

Alex Hotel an OK place to sleep. The A/C in the rooms need to be cleaned pronto! All clogged up, clean it yourself if you want it to work. The area seemed scetchy but our car was left alone in the parking area, there's that I guess. I can't believe we $204 for that place...

The room was clean, and spacious. However the annex of the hotel we were in was sketchy we were placed across the hall from a logging training seminar so several mornings big heavy boots stomped down the long hall. Our room had the blow dryer stolen out of it and they treated us like we were dumb when we told them our room didn't have one. The staff were absolutely not welcoming or friendly they all just sit out side the breakfast room and talk and nothing gets restocked for the less than satisfactory breakfast. Our annex building had an overwhelming smell of industrial cleaner and burning electrical systems. We will not be back

We were switched from the main hotel to the anex building at the beginning of our trip and it was older and was primarily oil rig workers hcaving training on site, we were placed across the hall from the training center and had loud work boots all the time.
The pillows were horrible, and the service wasn't great
It works for a fairly clean place to stay for one night close to the airport but would not stay for any length of time.
Also is located in not the nicest part of town

One of the best experiences I've had with a hotel. Customer service was friendly, helpful, and willing to assist. The room was very clean and well maintained. Easy access to the airport and downtown. Suitable breakfast and coffee. Very accommodating. Hope to visit again. Would totally recommend this hotel.

Very clean. Polite front desk staff - especially the young man (Michael) who worked the evening shift. Good continental breakfast. Great location near downtown and airport. Economically priced.

I enjoy staying here at the Alex Inn and Suites. The personnel here are always courteous, willing to accommodate my husband and myself. We stay here quite frequently, due to medical reasons for both of us. We are always treated well and with respect, and would definitely stay again in the future - Thank you and Merry Christmas to all staff at Alex Inn and Suites!
