this hotel has very basic rooms, no air con, bed and pillows so uncomfortable.
Service not great, asked 4 times for extra pillows and towels but never arrived. Water dripping through ceiling light, broken lights in the room and phone in room didn’t work at all. Was very dated and faded with a musky smell in the hallway. Food was ok but service in the restaurant not too great and was very rushed and a struggle to get more drinks. Used the swimming pool where we had to prebook at session to even use the sauna etc. some very rude staff working in the swimming pool area who were shouting at children, aggressive and just rude in the way they spoke to everyone. Overall it was fine but I would suggest staying in Celtic Manor not this hotel.

The room itself was fine with a comfortable, good sized bed plus a settee.
The bathroom is very poorly designed and needs reconfiguring.
Reception staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly.
We were disappointed that we could no longer use the shuttle service to Celtic Manor as this was a highlight of our previous stay.
The car parking charge for residents is excessive and unnecessary considering the overall charges anyway.
We were not overly impressed with the breakfast - the quality of the ingredients was poor with tasteless bacon and very chewy sausages. We did enjoy the fruit salad. The toasters do not toast and are pretty useless.
All in all, we felt very disappointed with this stay compared to our previous stay a few years ago. Standards have not been maintained and it seems that the persuing of profit is overriding the quality of service and value for money. Not a good look for the Celtic Manor brand.
