This hotel is in a beautiful neighborhood, is clean, and has very comfortable beds. Great place to stay if you're catching a show at the Kennedy Center. The construction was a minor inconvenience, and we never saw anything about the pillow menu they speak of on their website, but we slept well and had a nice stay overall.

Check-in & check-out were the worst experiences I have ever had at a hotel. It isn't even a real lobby- just a desk with someone at it. No parking whatsoever. We show up after a long car ride & tell us our room won't be ready for another 3 hours although the wedding we were in town to attend started in 3 hours. After some back & forth, we were given a room within 5 mins. When we checked out the next day, we went out for brunch & came back to use the restroom before our car ride home. We had used the main floor bathroom upon our arrival the day before, but the receptionist lied to us & said there was no bathroom on the floor & when we went back to the restroom we used before, she chased us back there & told us we couldn't use it. Terrible service. Will recommend to no one & will never use again.

Be mindful of ongoing construction and many amenities not accessible (valet, parking garage, restaurant and main entrance). You will enter and exit via backdoor and if you drive parking can be difficult. Great finishes in bathroom and quality toiletries. Several times I have stayed staff have been excellent and accommodating. Am irewards member so like to stay in hotels in network.

The location is amazing, within 2 blocks of the metro and Kennedy center. In a quiet residential area. Hotel is in the middle of a remodel, but the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very accommodating.

Hotel was under construction. Not sure of the normal standards but it was not posted on line nor we were made aware ahead of time. No parking only on street which is awful to do in D.C and air conditioning didn't work too great it was on and off. No Pool sadly but the beds were super comfy and had the best pillows and blankets I've come by at a hotel and the doorman was the best part of the hotel he was amazing friendly always remembered who you were and happy.

There is a lot to like about ARC, but we had some problems during our stay that lowered my rating.

First, the positive. The location is fantastic. It's about a 5-10 minute walk from the Kennedy Center depending on your fitness level and urban navigation skills. The room was nice, but it had some quirks. The most annoying quirk was the shower door. It didn't want to stay closed.

The staff was always polite, professional, and friendly. But they weren't always helpful.

Which brings me to our biggest problem. We planned to use their valet parking during our stay, but there weren't any spaces available when we arrived. I had to find a public parking garage and pay $17 to park for 1.5 hours until a space was available. We had hoped to drive to an event and return to the hotel at 11 PM, but they couldn't promise us a space. We had to change our travel plans, and they still charged over $50 for parking plus almost $10 in taxes. They didn't offer us any relief when we politely explained our displeasure.

If parking is not a concern for you, ARC may be a good choice. If parking is important to you, you should make contingency plans.

Facility is under renovation. Construction all throughout with a more than difficult entrance to find. Nice rooms have received a great upgrade. NO restaurant or bar on premises. No valet parking service. Front desk night attendant was rude! Property will not answer phone nor call back. Management made empty promises to accommodate but never even called back. My advice is to stay at the river inn two blocks down for a better price and nicer place.

A diamond in the heart of foggy bottom - Just toured the property and it is elegant and charming. They wrapping up renovations in the next month or 2 which will really put the shine on this jewel in a historic part of town. They've maintained the unique quirks of the original building which delivers unique rooms with modern finishes. Their staff is so helpful and friendly - especially the manager Jenn :-) And I just love DC in the spring - the perfect launching point to tour the historic parts of the city and feel like you're a local. You wont find a better spot in this part of town.

Nice hotel, close to a subway station. Staff is nice. Air condition stopped working during our stay in one of the hottest weeks ever recorded in DC.

The hotel was decent, but without a doubt one of the most outdated places I have stayed in some time. There was clear evidence of mildew around the air units, the heat was not working, the bathroom was okay at best. I must say that the room was very spacious though, and the bed very comfortable. They never replaced the bottles of water that were in the room the first day even though I stayed for four nights. Don't know I would stay here again for the amount it costs. However, the location is prime.

The staff is very helpful and the location is top notch. I've had a few issues with water temperature, but overall this is a great, affordable choice for those wishing to visit DC.

Great location in the heart of Foggy Bottom. Rooms are generously sized and packed with amenities and the bed is incredibly comfortable. The decor is dated but that is part of the charm of this hotel, which looks old on the surface but is modern where it counts. Staff are friendly & efficient. A great choice, would stay here again.

It's an overall good hotel. The rooms have an old school charm. The employees are nice amd welcoming. The location is great, it's walking distance from the National Mall. The fridge in the hotel room was a little loud. There were some stain on the carpet but it was not a big deal. This hotel is super accessible.

The hotel is really close to the Foggy Bottom GWU metro stop making it convenient to get around. It is also a comfortable walk to many of the memorials. The rooms are dated but have been clean throughout the stay and include a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker.

A decent accomodation. The room I booked has a kitchen and comes with appliances to cook with. It's pretty quiet here.

Quaint - like most of Georgetown really but without the pretentiousness. Service is friendly, and, of course, it's close to one of the busiest tourist circuits in the world without feeling "touristy." Will be back

Location location location! Really close to a metro station and about a 15 minute walk to some of the major tourist spots. Older hotel and definitely starting to show it's age, but room was clean. No complaints.

The actual building is tricky to find; it'd be nice if they had a bigger sign. The rooms were very nice and spotless. They do offer complementary valet parking. The attached restaurant has a great happy hour special with long hours.

Location is good with a good amount of on street parking nearby (free at nights and on the weekends). Hotel experience was good and very reasonably priced.

Our room was very nice and big, it even has a small kitchen with a fridge and a microwave, although we didn't use it. Staff is nice and comfortable. Breakfast is an extra 12 to 17 dollars at the restaurant that's next to the hotel, which is a bit pricey but worth it. I think that the location it's in is very convenient, especially if you want to go visit George Washington University like I did.

I stayed there in September 2016, and although it was a short stay I can say I couldn't have chosen a better hotel. A very short walk away from a metro station and a helpful and friendly staff made our stay very pleasing.

Front desk service has been excellent, provided me with needed items. Room is wonderful - large and classic, not generic like new chain hotels. Would definitely stay again.

With a pleasantly large sleeping room (for a big city, anyway), a very comfortable bed, attentive and courteous staff, and a great location at a fabulous price (AAA rate), my stay at the University Inn mostly met or exceeded my expectations... with a few annoying exceptions.

No air conditioning in the winter months despite it being approaching 80 degrees during our visit in February. The people were very friendly and did being us fans to our rooms. However, the furniture is in bad condition and the paint was leaking in the bathrooms. It wouldn't be my first choice for a place to stay again.

You might have to hunt a little for the place, but well worth it. Quality food with an Italian insight and attention to detail. Well within walking distance of the Kennedy Center. Service is attentive without hovering.

Service has been great, but they don't have A/C. In November, sure, it doesn't seem horribly necessary, but it's been fairly warm recently. The hotel restaurant isn't great either. Not bad, but not great. Location is pretty fantastic though. Ten minute walk to the Kennedy Center, twenty minutes to White House and National Mall, and lots of great food options as well.

The location is great for going to the Kennedy Center for a show. Room was plenty spacious. Bathroom was a little small. Beds were really comfortable. It looses a star as the air conditioning in the halls/lobby/elevator isn't great and the thermostat in the room was constantly being stuck once it reached temperature, which then caused it to get hot and humidity again. Still overall we would come here again.

The hotel is well furnished and reasonably priced yet slightly dated in its features. The staff are very friendly, helpful and polite making the overall experience much better. The location of the hotel is centrally located making it easy to get to all of the prime locations.

We had an excellent stay! This hotel was spacious with a kitchen in it with 2 burners, mini fridge and everything needed to cook. The bathroom even had Shampoo and Conditioner pumps so no worries running out. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The Foggy Bottom Metro area in which the hotel resides was beautiful and our family felt safe while staying there . We would definitely stay here again should we visit the DC area again in the future

I had a basic room with two double beds. It had a TV, a small fridge with a freezer, coffee pot, the bathroom was small but clean, and everything worked. The AC worked and wasn't loud and clangy like many places I've stayed. The staff was fantastic! I give the overall experience 5 stars, not because it's a 5 star hotel, but because everything about our stay here was good. It was a little off the beaten path, which was fine with us. We prefer that. And it was only a 5 minute walk from the nearest subway stop (Foggy Bottom), from which we could go anywhere in the city. I highly recommend this place unless you're into the large hotel chains that have gyms, swimming pools etc.

This is a great little hotel! I had no idea about this location until some friends stayed here. Honestly, the price is great, its very clean and well run and it's in a great location. Were I traveling to DC, I would want to stay here.
