The Belmond chain is one of my fav in the world. And thankfully that had invited us to their beach front during our day trip to Taormina. Belmond never disappoints. Is chic, elegant, comfortable & wonderful staff, amenities and decor. Food at the bar was average but it is what it is.
Jelly fish could be a problem but it's the oceann and I will hope Belmond puts same effort to pick up plastic as they do to killed jellyfish. Sad.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Sant Andrea. The views are spectacular and the setting so elegant and peaceful. Truly a must experience place. Definitely have a lunch at the restaurant and enjoy delicacy in dining. The service and food are excellent.

Wow what a romantic setting. Such a beautiful restaurant and gardens with some water fountains. A very special dinner! Very expensive so go there for a special occasion and a magnificent view. If you want to propose they have a romantic table on the beach too with candles. Beautiful wine too. The food is delicious. Reasonably small portions for the fish fillet but it’s stunning. The whole fish is plenty for two of you order an entree. Lovely olive oil too. The staff are wonderful and the piano player is great! The chef came out to meet us which was very nice. The steak looks incredible ! The desert selection was so good! Absolutely fell in love with the chilli chocolate truffles. There is a small pontoon for the super yacht tenders.

Location couldn't be better - right on the water with amazing views from the room. Staff had just the right balance of being helpful, but not over-doing it.

The hotel itself is beautiful and perfectly situated on the coast with amazing views. Inside is spotlessly clean with good sized rooms and bathrooms, although you're going to pay more for a better view that has a smaller room and bathroom. The staff is very friendly and the service is great. The bed was pretty comfy, internet worked well, and the breakfast was excellent.

Didn't stay here but it's a beautiful setting and a VERY welcome escape from the tourist madness of Taormina and Isola Bella. Full disclosure: a 33cl bottle of beer is €11...

This is a nice enough place, it just really paled in comparison to other places: 1) another place we stayed in Sicily for almost half the price, where we had a far nicer room, there was much more to do, service was better, and food was WAY better; and 2) it also compared poorly to another hotel in Taormina where we spent a lot of time & which was the same price, but was a nicer building, had more to do, an even more spectacular view (yes, it’s possible,) had much better service & also better food. The food was close to the worst we had in ~2wks in Sicily, but again that’s mostly because this was fine, but we had genuinely spectacular food elsewhere. We were a little unhappy with the room because both the room itself & the bathroom were so tiny they were dysfunctional. And I think it was just the location of our room, but it was so loud I got barely any sleep the first few days, until I started using a noise machine. Otherwise, we also had a not-so-nice experience of being literally shooed off the beach “in case someone wants to rent the cabana.” I had a migraine at the time (in part from lack of sleep), so I was probably more upset than I might have been, but still it was very rudely done, & at $800/night, you don’t expect staff rudeness. It was worse because we had sat there before, & seen other people there (without renting the cabana), so the rule, if that’s what it really is, is evidently inconsistently enforced. Who knows - certainly they’re motivated to rent those cabanas because they cost more than the room itself. The whole thing seemed kind of underhanded, like they were trying to get us to pay more (there were other things that gave us that impression, too). Anyway the whole beach thing, which seemed to be the main attraction, was not that pleasant because the lounges are jam packed & fill early. Having to jostle and connive (or pay) to get a spot didn’t add to our enjoyment, to say the least. So- wish we didn’t stay here; wouldn’t stay again.

Tonight we decided to do something unusual at least for us, we decided to try the dining room in the hotel. Keep in mind we had lunch at Al Fogher and after that who knew if something could possibly be better?
Dinner was outstanding, we had for starters a rocket salad with avocados, freshly grown tomatoes, pecorino etc. the other appetizer was buratta with sliced tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, a basil reduction and a drizzle of balsamic.
For the entrees we went with the Sicilian eggplant parmigiana, not the type you get in NY. This was perfection no breading, no pools of oil, a perfectly layered masterpiece. For the other entree a Sicilian classic, braciola, (breaded veal rolls,) with a pecorino sauce and fresh peas and asparagus. If you want a classic mans authentic dish this was it.
Desert was a cheese plate along with the daily cannoli both excellent choices. The wine list was very diverse and had many different regional wines. The big hit was the desert wine was a glass of Ben Ray from Donnafugta, which was outstanding.
The hotel itself is amazing totally first class, the rooms might be small, but very well appointed with a very attentive and friendly staff.

What can I say. Yes the view is great. Yes the food is yummy. Yes the bed and room was very comfortable. BUT it was the staff at this hotel that made the stay so memorable. They are all so personable and caring it's hard not to fall in love with this hotel. My 4 year old son cried for hours after we left. My wife loved her facial and thought the hairdressor was an amazing perfectionist. My family will definitely be back. Lots of love to Antonio, Angie, Carmelo, Salvator, Marco and Andrea.

Excellent hotel. You should know the restaurant if you don't stay here.
I was there as a wedding videographer, at the end of August, 2018, and evrything was perfect. Marilisa, in charge of coordinating the event, was always helpful and kind.
