We had our daughters birthday and from the moment we arrived at the hotel the service, the people, the attention to detail was beyond any of the other top 5 star hotels; from Givi, Max and the other doormen, to the reception staff, Wakhim and last but not least Janine who throughout was a super star in arranging surprises for the girls (not easy with 12) and ensuring everything went as smooth as it possibly could. The rooms are fantastic, the break / lounges are lovely area's for eating but no doubt its the service that sets this apart.
We very much look forward to returning in the near future.

The bar downstairs is beautiful with well dressed uniformed attendees. It has an old time elegance feel.
The cocktails served were divine.

The rooms are very nice, clean and warm especially for winter times, the air conditioning system is working nicely.Bring welcoming champagne and always having two bottles of still and spring water on your room.Have some magazine to read.
If you have any queries they always speed to help you. There's a good gym if you're if you like to exercise just like me keeping shape, healthy and strong. The lift is always working.
All the staff and the management are very nice people and their very professional that's why their one of the five star hotels.

My partner and I booked a formal afternoon tea here and were rather disappointed. It's a special treat to take afternoon tea in a place like this. But besides the doorman John and the lovely gentleman Miguel, who served us for part of our Tea... the experience was somewhat wanting.
The bearded host in the tearoom was rude and quite obnoxious. He muttered something to my partner about "doing our jobs for us" when he spotted her topping up our pot with hot water. Perhaps if he'd been doing his job, she'd not have to do it for him?
The staff that seated us refused our request for a window table with the excuse that it was booked. The table we asked for remained empty for the duration of our stay.
The tearoom was also full of awful people that felt it was ok to show up in trainers and jeans.
There were some Spanish tourists at a table nearby lounging around like they were relaxing in a brothel, shortly after an orgy.
The food had obviously been prepared a bit too long before hand. The greens were limp and sad looking. The sandwiches presented in a shoddy manner.
There are plenty of other places doing afternoon tea. This place is to be avoided.
The bathrooms were nice though.

The bad: Breakfast was total rubbish. If you don't have it in the room rate it is 30 pounds *a head* for the most awful english breakfast. The continental is OK. Service is slow and unattentive and they regularly messed up my order and the staff seem not to understand how breakfast works. Fix the breakfast you have a 5 star place.

The staff are very attentive and the wine list is quite diverse without being overwhelming. We received some lovely olives and nuts with each bottle of champagne we ordered.
Will definitely visit again.

Our stay could not have been more delightful. It was a joint anniversary and birthday celebration and the hotel staff were so thoughtful. A particular thank you to House Manager Alex.
Fabulous food and ambience, beautiful surroundings. We would stay again in a heartbeat. We hope we don't have to wait another 20 years! Thank you Browns.

The afternoon tea itself was delicious and additional supplies of sandwiches/scones are brought before you've even thought about wanting more! There is a brilliant choice of tea and you're provided with a sample of your chosen tea (in leaf form naturally) to take home with you.
It's a lovely place to celebrate a special occasion.

they only have low chairs and lounge sofas, people I saw were all slouching and lounging - not very appropriate when you are in buttoned up shirt/tie and tousers
