Canal House

Keizersgracht 148, 1015 CX Amsterdam, Netherlands Access

Canal House

The impressive 17th-century Canal House is set within a Unesco World Heritage Site on Keizersgracht- one of Amsterdam s main canals and close to the Anne Frank House. This intimate and stylish property features 23 rooms- a large garden with a garden house- a bar- a restaurant and unique artwork throughout. Undeniably glamorous yet welcoming- the hotel is a place to enjoy a convivial atmosphere and good food. The contemporary colour scheme is a striking mix of black- purples- greys and coppers and most rooms have an open-concept bathroom- some with delightful canal views. Canal House is ideally placed for visiting the designer boutiques- art galleries and cafes in the Nine Streets district. Wander along the tree-lined canals to Dam Square- and the Royal Palace. Then- return to the hotel- via the flower market- for a romantic drink in the garden. The Canal House is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.

A stones throw from the Anne Frank House and the boutiques and cafes of the Nine Streets district- Canal House is ideally situated for those wishing to take in the local culture by bicycle- boat or by foot. We are an approximately 10min walk from Amsterdam Central Station and within easy walking distance to the Dam- Flower Market- Spui and Noordermarkt. Schiphol Airport is 20km away and a 15min train journey from Amsterdam Central Station. Location code CTY Airport city code AMS

This is truthful. The way to get in our apartment in Amsterdam. The little Giulio is jumpping up on the stairs to arrive on the top. Even it is difficult, it is funny too. Obviously for a short period. And check your need before going back home...the stair is waiting for you. AMSTERDAM

Gorgeous hotel -- absolutely beautiful room, with a VERY comfortable bed and a nice deep bathtub. Very close to the tram line for easy access to the Centraal train station. Helpful staff, tasty breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.

This is the second time staying at Canal House and we loved every single minute of it. The staff is the best, super professional and friendly, they anticipate any needs you may have. The rooms are exquisitely designed and very comfortable. Either overlooking the Canal or the courtyard in the back you get amazing views and sunlight. I can't think of any other place to stay and honestly cannot wait to go back and experience Amsterdam the authentic way with Canal House. Love love love!

The Canal House and their staff were unbelievable! Starting from check-in, where the reception desk noticed it was my birthday, acknowledged it and comped a welcome beer, apple pie, and coffee. We arrived early, so they allowed us to drop off our bags while we went out. When we did get to our room, the staff had left birthday balloons and a greeting note wishing a Happy Birthday (also comped 2 glasses of Prosecco during our next visit to the bar). Overall the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.

The breakfast that was included in the morning was a pretty good buffet breakfast (croissants, pastries, cheese, meats, fruit, etc.). They also offer hot breakfast on order for a really good price. The dining room staff was also extremely friendly and generous.

The room was spacious, had nice decor, and had a really unique bathroom. They offer a specialized line of shampoo, conditioner, lotions, and soap which was really good. Each time we came back to our room after our excursions, the room was made up. Great service.

Again, we can't say enough how great the staff was and how accommodating they were the whole time we were there. Upon check out, they comped a box of brownies and helped us with information on getting to the train station. Can't say we've had a better hotel experience anywhere else. Thank you so much to the Canal House for all their efforts and for providing guests with a great experience in Amsterdam!

the staff were excellent, the general ambience lovely and a great location. The wifi was patchy at best - not at all available in the room, patchy at breakfast, best in the bar. a small thing but noticeable as an issue when everything else was so good.

10

Amazing service, unlike anything I've experienced in any other hotel in the world. Amazingly friendly staff that took the time to tour the building with us, offer to order taxi service, check on train do struction status to help with our departure and kept everything wonderfully tidy. The decor has classic charm of the original row house but with updated individual rooms that we're modernized yet maintained the grandier of the rest of the building. Only a heads up, not an issue but the rooms are efficient in that the bathroom and bed room are incorporated into one with design placement to offer some privacy whilst actually bathing and toilet in separate closed off section.

Enjoyed the hospitality, breakfasts, garden, and the noir rooms although the Mrs. thought they were too dark and somber . We could sit on our window sill and take in the canal scene.
