Great hotel, and the comfiest beds. Ideal location not too in the thick of the city. Lovely walk across the water to get back into Newcastle. The best and most helpful staff!!! Highly recommended for work and / or pleasure.

Stayed in this hotel I was attending a friend's wedding at the Baltic. I was upgraded on check-in for free since they'd run out of the rooms I had booked.

I was given a fully accessible quayside room (although I do not have a disability) which was quite large. In terms of room features, there was a comfy double bed, a desk with a 28" TV, wardrobe space and plenty of floor space.

The room felt quite dated and could have done with a lamp or ceiling lights for better illumination, but was alright. As the room was fully accessible, there was an automatic door, though I did notice that the deadlock didn't work on it (which would have been nice). There was also a large wet room, which wasn't ideal for me as the whenever I used the shower, the spray soaked the entire floor even with the curtain closed. I'd have also appreciated shelving to put toiletries as the sink was quite small.

All the staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful - especially the night guard in reception. My only complaint was that the cleaner's store was outside my room and I was woken up at 7am both mornings by them talking - I would have appreciated it if they had been quieter!

The location of the hotel is nice - right next to the Baltic with easy access to both Gateshead and Newcastle. As a range of people use the hotel, one morning I was woken up at 4.30 whilst some drunk girls had a shouting match in the corridor (though I imagine that's a Newcastle thing).

Stayed here as part of a coach trip break. Slightly apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but really couldn't fault the place. Warm welcome from Manager, room was spotlessly clean, everything worked and the bed was comfortable - only negative, pillows were like bricks ! Reception, bar and waiting staff were friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was everything you would expect in this style of hotel, plenty of choice and all fresh. Over all we found Jurys Inn great great value for money and would return.

This is a great hotel nice clean rooms and a really good breakfast only downside is that parking here is almost impossible. It’s an out of town hotel with a tiny parking area, you used to be able to park on the street but you will get a ticket now. The staff try to get you to park in a car park at the top of the hill, this would be a 5+ min walk which I would advise you to arm yourself for and don’t expect anything to be in your car when you go back the next day.

Area is great for transportation links, night staff member at reception was helpful and professional.

Room could definitely use improvement, bathroom and bedroom surfaces were clean but shabby. Some broken bathroom tiles, stained curtains and carpet,

though nice clean bedding and vacuuming looked to have been done well.
So perhaps more of a maintenance/finance issue rather than housekeeping.

Can't say anything about the food as I didn't stay long enough to try any (work).
