The whole hotel has been updated except for the suites. It did not matter as we were pleased with our stay. On the way out, I was informed that the bottom floor suites are being upgraded now.
We will definitely be back to visit this hotel again.

Nice place. Modern look. Each room (from what I know) has a mobile phone with unlimited talk text and data use - that is actually free (to use). That phone as proved an invaluable navigational and useful communication utility as I live outside Europe and don't have an international phone plan. It's a little pricey though, compared to other nice Marriott's.

The contemporary rooms have flat-screen TVs, marble bathrooms, and tea and coffeemaking equipment. Upgraded rooms add sofabeds and access to a lounge with free English breakfast and snacks. Suites add sitting areas and 4-poster beds; some have balconies.
Amenities include an Asian-French-style restaurant by acclaimed chef, Gordon Ramsay, a New York–style steakhouse and a 1920s-era bar with 24-hour room service. There’s also a fitness centre and a game room, plus a business centre and 14 meeting rooms.

The only thing that let it down (and I wish it hadn't) was the wedding reception taking place downstairs on Saturday night. We must have been right on top of it, and had to put up with the high base from the music, and a very loud DJ until 1am. To make it worse, I reported this at check out only for the man to act as though we hadn't said anything wrong. An apology and explanation would have gone a long way. Very disappointing end to an amazing stay.

Excellent location of you want to shop on Oxford Street. Rooms are bigger than the typical London hotel. Helpful staff. Rooms and bathrooms are relatively updated. Avoid Street-facing rooms... They are very loud throughout the night
