Firstly the car park is advertised as close by, it's around a 15 min walk away. There are spaces right next to hotel but for some reason you cant park there. 20 minutes to check in and that's without a queue, (Travelodge takes about 30 seconds). They do some weird thing with your debit card but don't take payment even when I suggested taking it they didn't but then messed up whatever they were trying to do. Come to check out and that's another 10 to 15 minutes of apologies from the inexperienced staff. No tea or coffee making facilities in room but was told free 24/7 in bar area, we went and no water in kettle and no coffee, staff member filled kettle but forgot about coffee. I don't blame the staff as its managements job to train staff properly. Would I go back? Not for a while until they understand how to run a hotel but maybe when good reviews start coming through.

I stayed at the Moxy in order to attend the National Running Show at the NEC. Very easy to access the station and the NEC, the latter is an under cover walk. The brand new Moxy is tastefully decorated and furnished, bed was comfortable. I had two problems: 1, I have arthritis in my neck so could not use the supplied large thick pillows. There was no thinner softer alternative. 2, I require a gluten free diet. The only available evening meal option was curry and I cannot tolerate highly spiced "hot" foods. There was no possibility of anything else being offered. I did not use the service therefor my star comment is provided only to validate this review.
Nice brand new hotel a stone's throw from the entrance to the NEC. A pity the air conditioning wasn't working in our room so didn't get much sleep at 25 degrees all night. Resort World is close by too with plenty of places to eat and drink. A perfect location if you're attending a show at the NEC only let down by some initial teething problems.
