—> The process to check in as you arrive from the airport is flawless. You are greeted at the airport, your bags are taken care of, and you enjoy a lovely 15m boat ride over to the resort. The folks who are checking in guests are a pleasure to work with.
Arguably the most underrated feature of the entire resort is how much you can do and how much is offered even before you get your room. They even have changing/lounging suites to use while you wait for your room.
The Overwater bungalows (most of the lodging accommodations apart from other lovely rooms) have a floor-window looking down into the water, its a very cool experience. We took pictures of each other from above while the other person swam below. So cool. And the rooms were comfy, clean, and up to date with nice features.
The rooms have bluetooth capabilities to stream your own music as well.
One thing we’d like to see is less use of PEGs in their bath products.
The Spa is fun to use for a day-pass (a fee of $20 or so) because you can chill out here in any of a few relaxing areas with fresh Tea and health-promoting drinks. There’s a steam room too that’s quite lovely.
There were two gentleman who helped us while we stayed were Maxime and Loic (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!!) and they made the experience so much more enhanced for us to the point that we needed a picture with Maxime before we left. What a pleasure it was to talk with these two. I hope the Westin recognizes their efforts in a special way.
The breakfast buffet is your main meal of the day to get creative. If you’re staying here, you stuck at the resort unless you ferry to the main island where you’d need to taxi/rent a car from there and even then there’s not much to do/see. VaraVara has good entrees, we didn’t get to eat at the other restaurant Maera, but that’s the fine-dine experience.

Otherwise for food, not a ton of snacks on property, so instead go out and kayak, snorkle, swim, charter boat or jet ski tours, etc. Make some plans to do some things instead of coming here to ‘tan.’ The sun will be punishing if you just sit on the beach.
One other minor complaint, the gym was under-equipped. There needs to be more exercise equipment, but the yoga classes and pilates were perfectly designed.
We really were thrilled with this entire experience and would definitely come back. Especially if its less expensive than the St Regis because the experience here is phenomenal.

Our stay at the Westin Bora Bora was nothing short of magical—a true bucket-list destination in every sense. Nestled inside a lagoon, the resort offers unparalleled views of the majestic Mount Otemanu, creating a picture-perfect backdrop that feels like a scene from paradise.
We stayed in a Sunrise Villa, which provided breathtaking, unobstructed views of the sunrise each morning. Watching the golden hues light up the tranquil lagoon was an unforgettable experience. The villa itself was a haven of luxury, complete with a private plunge pool that circulated seawater, giving us the sensation of being immersed in the ocean without stepping out.
Our 5-night, 6-day stay in early November 2024 was blessed with dry weather, making it ideal for stargazing under clear skies, listening to the soothing waves, and soaking up the serene atmosphere.
As a Platinum Marriott Elite member, we were delighted to receive a warm welcome gift of champagne and cookies upon arrival—a thoughtful touch that set the tone for our luxurious stay. We also enjoyed complimentary breakfast, which quickly became a highlight of our mornings. The buffet offered a wide variety of options, including a live omelet station, with freshly brewed coffee, lattes, and cappuccinos made to order. The staff were incredibly attentive, adding to the overall sense of indulgence and relaxation throughout our visit.
The resort is well-designed and walkable, and the complimentary speedboat transfer to and from the airport made logistics seamless. The lagoon's calm waters, sheltered from the open ocean, ensured a peaceful and relaxing environment throughout our visit.
While the dining experience left room for improvement—with the food being subpar both at the resort and at the St. Regis where we dined one evening—the overall ambiance and hospitality more than made up for it. Just be prepared for steep prices that don’t necessarily match the culinary quality.
The spa treatments, however, were exceptional. We indulged in a couple’s massage, and the attention to detail, including a steam room session beforehand, was the epitome of relaxation.
In conclusion, our time at the Westin Bora Bora was a dream come true. Despite minor shortcomings in the food, the stunning location, luxurious accommodations, and impeccable service make it a destination we wholeheartedly recommend. We’ll cherish these memories forever!

Resort was great. The staff all went out of their way to make people feel welcome. Very new and clean rooms. Wonderful location. Very good gym with daily classes included in the resort fee. The food, while pricey, was enjoyable and large portions. A few nits to iron out as still new, but highly recommend.

This is our first time in FP and Bora Bora the last stop. It is definitely the best experience of our trip, and largely because of Westin. The service here is superb: we were taken by boat from BOB to the hotel, and greeted by Marie. She is professional and friendly, and explained everything to us in detail. We needed to schedule transportation to the main island, as well as booking the resort restaurants. Justine at concierge helped us book everything. We booked some tours ourselves, but she still called them to help schedule pickup, which was a huge relief to us since we were having communication issues with the tour operators. Then we were offered to stay in a transition room till our over the water bungalow is ready. This is great since we were hot and sweaty from the flight. We took a shower, enjoyed the aC and the lagoon view of the villa. Then we were picked up by a golf cart to our bungalow. This is the best check in process I’ve ever had, as a frequent international traveler both for business and fun. Throughout our stay, the service was consistently professional, polite and friendly. We both felt very well taken care of wherever we went.
I highly appreciate the very recently renovated resort. Before coming here, I’ve stayed at some famous resort in Moorea, and I was frustrated by the lack of modern amenities (not enough outlets, no USB charging whatsoever, and slow wifi!). However, Westin has kept the classic Polynesian elements but updated with a modern design and beach villa aesthetics. The colors and the materials used are light colored wood and weaver, which is so bright and refreshing compared to the transitional dark colors. Everything is new: the bungalows, the docks, the restaurants, spas and pools. The wifi is so fast and you can get it on the boat shuttle and on the dock! There are plenty of charging points in the room.
The property is huge and we used the free bikes to get around and look around. Both the motu facing and the lagoon facing views are beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained.
food: I was a little concerned due to the mixed reviews on Google, but both my husband and I were very pleasantly surprised. There are 3 restaurants on location, and we tried all 3 for dinner. We are omnivores but prefer lighter healthier foods. The menus are very vegetable and seafood forward, and we loved it. Our package included breakfast, lunch and dinner, excluding alcoholic drinks and the fine dining restaurant is 5000XPF per person. We had vegetable appetizers and fish main courses at Tipanier and Varavara. Both had great Motu views at sunset. We kept getting up and taking pictures like other diners. I especially loved the green power bowl from Varavara. It was very refreshing. We did not have any alcohol during in these 2 restaurants, but iced teas and herbal infusions, which were delightful. The last night we had the set menu at Maere, their fine dining restaurant, with a surprise set menu. I’ve had my fair share of fine dining and I really liked the concept of the menu, the french technique and the care of showcasing local ingredients. We also had the wine pairing, and tried some very usual wines such as made locally and from Lebanon. They went with the courses perfectly and it was nice to chat with the sommelier and the staff. All the staff at the restaurants were again so wonderful to us.
The breakfast buffet had both hot and cold dishes. I like my English style brekkie with roasted tomatoes, potatoes, vegetables and eggs. My husband loves bread, yogurt and fresh fruits. We were both happy. The omelet station was nice too. No complaints!
Activities: we mostly went out during the day for snorkeling and touring, but noticed peolple using the free kayaks and other equipment. We went to the eco center before checking out and had an informative and fun time learning about the good work of saving injured turtles. We watched turtle feeding and a happy turtle practice swimming in the lagoon.
I was very happy to choose this resort for our first Bora Bora trip. I hope others will enjoy it too!

Spent 5 nights at this newly opened Westin for my birthday with my best friend.
Everything was perfect. I told them I couldn’t swim so they gave us a room with the shallow water. All the staff were friendly and helpful. There were plenty things for us to do everyday. Food was delicious. The only downside is the option for food is limited so after 4 days both of us wanted something else for dinner.
