The hotel was excellent. It is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms are spacious with a separate shower and jacuzzi tub. The staff was very respectful and accommodating. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Shinagawa station is in walking distance but there is also an easy shuttle bus directly from Narita airport.

close to Shinagawa station.(about 5 minutes on foot) there is a shuttle bus, it goes around Shinagawa Prince group Hotels and starts from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. 3 times an hour. this hotel has a public spa, pool, gim, only for hotel guests and some restaurants. these are stylish modern Japanese style. and also quiet, moderate and comfortable.

Excellent 60's modern hotel one block from Shinegawa station. Shared gardens with a tea house, temple and ambient art display around its ponds. 2 other Prince hotels share the gardens and 2 pools. Part of the Marriott Autograph collection with an excellent executive lounge / bar for loyalty members.

Beautiful hotel located close to shinigawa station. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Executive lounge is well stocked and staffed. If you are staying over Sunday, I would definitely recommend the restaurant on the 3rd floor for breakfast.

Beautifully located. A few minutes from Shinagawa station. Limosuine bus from airport takes you directly to the hotel. Very nice gym. Great views of Tokyo tower (from the room I stayed in). Rooms are spacious and there are even bathtubs with jets! They also provide soaking soaps as part of the bathroom amenities. This hotel, due to the location, staff, service, and atmosphere has become one of my favorite hotels.

This place was incredible. This felt more like a luxurious American hotel with Japanese extras. It was large and cozy. The executive lounge was incredible. Much of the staff spoke English very well. The relaxation long in the basement was the highlight of this stay.

The location, mere steps from Shinagawa Train Station, is outstanding. The service by the staff is the best and the recognition of Marriott is great. The rooms are larger than most in Japan. The amenities are outstanding with a deep tub and shower separate.
I recommend this hotel despite the slightly higher price.

Modern, clean, excellent service and close proximity to the Shinagawa station. Spent just over a week at the hotel during vacation with my wife. Lovely Japanese garden behind the hotel. Our room was large and clean, with a great view of Tokyo Tower. Hope to return!

Well located because Shinagawa station is both a shinkansen station and on the yamanote line. As a Marriott gold we got free lounge access which was a huge plus.
There's a beautiful garden that is full of cherry blossoms in season, not to mention the entire walk from the train station is shaded with them.
This is a solid option for a tourists, aside from the fact that the thermostat was entirely in Japanese

Very coveniently location by shinagawa station. Large rooms with great bathroom. Comfortable large king bed. Very professional staff. Breakfast in the executive lounge was great. A little awkward during cocktail hours as the lounge was full and we did not realize we had to check in with the attendant to reserve seats.

*Huge* Rooms.
Yeah, theres more - it's a very luxe resort/spa/hotel, but it's the *huge* rooms that really set the pace (remember, this *is* Japan!)
So yeah, huge rooms, extraordinarily comfy beds, extremely friendly staff, a more than decent gym in the basement, and for the marriott/platinum amongst you - an executive lounge with an excellent breakfast in the mornings, it's quite the excellent hotel.
Some pluses
* It's in shinagawa, which I personally like (close to Haneda, on the NEX line to Narita, and on most of the rail lines to other parts of Japan
* A very picturesque wee japanese garden in the back
* Right next to Shinagawa station (a few minutes walk, if that)
I've stayed here pretty much every time I've been in Tokyo, and expect to do so in the future too !

Friendly and attentive staff. Nice location with beautiful Japanese style garden. We received beautiful flowers, fruits and cards for our anniversary and birthday. While the staff was excellent, the hotel itself could use an update or renovation especially the restroom and some common areas.

Very nice modern hotel, recently differentiated (Marriott) from the other Prince hotels, so locals cab drivers might be a bit confused about where this I've is, but they are all in the same area.
Overall, a high-end, excellent hotel with excellent amenities and as-always in Japan, attentive staff. Good executive lounge, bar and restaurant options.
Location is nice allows easy access to more crowded areas of Tokyo, but also shinagawa is a major train him, so you can get to popular destination Kyoto from here very easily in the bullet train

One of the greatest perks of staying at the prince sakura is that they have a free full service gym! Do note you must bring a pair of clean shoes not worn out on the street (you can also rent a pair of shoes).Additionally, the staff are great and very fluent in english!

Terrific 4 night stay, outstanding customer service offered by the staff, and caters to more western tastes with large rooms and restaurant menus. It's a bit further out, but offers rates $50 to $75 lower per night than properties closer to city center. Across from rail / subway station, plenty of taxi cabs on call. Huge variety and quantity of Japanese, asian, and American restaurants within short walking distance. The beautiful Japanese garden it shares with the other 3 partner hotels is incredibly serene. It's an older property, but every room has been upgraded with modern amenities, very comfortable beds, and large flat screen HD TV. Only gripe is the very slow Internet service, but will gladly stay here again and high recommend it to others. Marriott Rewards members get free breakfast buffet (Gold and higher) and Internet service.

Stay here every chance I get for work. Granted it's typically only one night as I pass through Tokyo. The rooms are western size rooms. They are well maintained and the staff is pretty accommodating. Love the proximity to the Shinagawa train station. It allows me to do some sight seeing all over the city at low cost to get around. Plus that I am to book it back home from Marriott.

Spacious, well appointed rooms with nice amenities. Beds are massive and comfortable — far better than most hotel beds. Rooms and premises are immaculate; staff are warm and accommodating. Fee to use the gym is irksome and on the steep side (¥2160); whirlpool and steam/sauna is included in general hotel cost. Bit out of the way but near Shinagawa station so easy to get around.

Great, perfect and excellent service. The staffs are very friendly and well-informed. They were cooperative and professional answering our question for supervising us in the hotel. The facilities at the hotel are very lovely as well- very clean and very well maintained. I really enjoyed their service. Fantastic! Restaurant was awesome, great food! Outstanding location, close to train station, and close to many other sights. The staff was most memorable, they were so friendly. Just be sure to have 'inside shoes' which means shoes that have never been worn outside if you want to use the gym...mine had a trace of dirt, therefore I was not allowed in.

I love the design in this hotel. The lobby, spa and restaurants have breathtaking views. The fixtures and furniture in the relaxation room of the spa are out of this world. In fact I wish I could order them for my own living room. The rooms are large (huge by Japanese standards), WiFi worked flawlessly, the bedding is super comfortable and since it is part of a ring of "prince" branded hotels around thee area (connected via a lovely Japanese guarden), they own most of the best restaurants in the Minato area (Italian, Chinese, Tempura, Steakhouse,...), each with special discovery menu for hotel guests. The wellness area with drizzle steam sauna, dry sauna and a huge hot Jacuzzi is also a big highlight of the hotel. The location 4 min away from Shinagawa station is also great. The best is if you order well ahead of time the room prices are incredibly low for a hotel of this standing. By comparison, the Capitol hotel, which is considered fairly priced and has equally get oder reviews here and on TripAdvisor costs the double! I was going to go to the Capitol hotel for the second part of my stay, now I am not sure why I would except for something different and a new location. It sure seems like a great hotel as well but at double the price I might as well treat myself to massages every day or go do some shopping instead...

First time in Tokyo. My family stayed at the Marriott for two nights (during our week in Tokyo.) We got an upgrade. The room was VERY spacious (much larger than a standard room in America), with a HUGE marble bath with jetted tube and accompanying stand alone shower, double vanity, and lovely in room amenities (mini fridge, coffee pot, slippers, robe, pajamas, and the toiletry selection- best I've ever seen. And, we don't stay in shabby places (Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Ritz, Hyatt, JW, etc) My family is composed of two adults and two children (under 3) we are all seasoned international travelers. The Hotel was quick to accommodate our request to send-up a blu-ray play (for my children.) We are Marriott Gold Members and although, I was originally disappointed there is no concierge/executive lounge--- It worked out in our favor--- because the breakfast buffet was a FANTASTIC alternate. It's quite fabulous- and reason enough to stay at this hotel. We (also) ordered room service, and the food (although pricey- was quite good). My only complaint- is the kids selection was lacking (we ordered pizza for the kids two nights straight)... (At the four seasons and Mandarin Oriental- we get kids robes, milk stocked in the mini-fridge, and a separate room service menu JUST FOR KIDS- with hot dogs, pizza, chicken and fish sticks, organic juices, chips, raisins, fruits, ice cream, desserts, milk, etc --- and even at the four seasons its all priced reasonably for little mouths )... That is my one and only suggestion for improvement...... but, even if the hotel doesn't accommodate kids--- for a fraction of the cost you get a similar (if not nicer) room at the Sakura Tower and the walk to lawson/family mart is easy (we walked to get the kids milk and yogurt). The hotel is across the street from Shinagawa station ( I walked while pregnant with a 3yr old and a 1 yr old in a stroller/buggy--- if the 1/2 block uphill is an issue, I contend you certainly need the exercise). We did take the free hotel shuttle once (in the pouring rain.) I should mention, the hotel also offers

An excellent, businessman's-style hotel... stayed as a tourist and enjoyed every moment. The simplest rooms are quite lovely (with excellent bathing faculties)... and the service is /top notch/ and rapid response. I had a minor issue upon arrival with water temperature and it was fixed within an hour of making a single, quick call. I highly recommend it for those points, for the delicious breakfast pastries of the Prince Family's "Coppel" boulangerie (located in the adjacent Prince hotel, across the beautiful central garden)... and for the conveniences of the Shinagawa area (especially the massive connectivity of the multi-mode rail station across the main drag). Enjoy!

Stayed at this hotel at the end of December 2013 and loved it. Everything was nice and clean, Rooms were great and a nice size for a Japanese hotel, free wi-fi, and the staff were super friendly and even entertained my bad Japanese without breaking out into English. :) Hotel is a short walk to Shinagawa station where you can get to practically anywhere, and there was a shuttle from Narita to the hotel. Would definitely stay here again. There's also a 7-11 just down the road, and a bunch of cheap quick-eat places (the katsu-curry place was particularly good). Only downside is that the gym is about $15 a day to use, but it is a very well equipped gym for a hotel.
Lovely hotel that is now a part of Marriott's Autograph collection. My favorite place to stay in Tokyo (despite not being in city center). The hotel is a 5min walk from Sinagawa station, making it easy to get to/from the airport. The Executive Lounge serves an extensive breakfast with both hot and cold options. Rooms are sizable, and there is a large gym on the bottom floor. If you find yourself with time on your hands, wander through the garden out back or take a walk to the Sengakuji Temple (~20min).
