Marvelous hotel with some of the most expensive and exquisite tapastries. You will feel like you are staying in the old palace with exceptional service. The staff are the best. You will not find a better hotel for this price and luxury of silence anywhere else. This place is a must.

New center hotel In Madrid. Fabulous breakfast in the courtyard or inside, you can choose. Dark corridors, great beds, bathroom with all you need. The and coffee facilities also made the difference. And just 3 minutes walking to the Opera house. By the way, the schedule for 2018-2019 is worth seeing and listening!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, walking distance to restaurants and shops. Rooms are modern with nice bathrooms and also option to connect your own music. If you are tall, avoid top floor rooms, in one of them on a first night I walked in to the slinted ceiling. Not sure if this is in all of them. The other room we got was fine.
The decor and theme of this hotel is Vasques. I think... Anyway. I liked it a lot ;)
There are several restaurants in the hotel and also a gym and spa. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. I would recomend this hotel and would stay here again

This is literally the best Hotel you'll ever stay at, it sure is mine. Upon checkin you'll be offered a drink, the check-in process is professional and personal. Moving onto the room, you'll notice a chocolate and personalized note signed by the manager of the Hotel.
The bed is the best I've ever slept in, the bathroom is superb, small things like Shampoo, Soap are high quality.
Onto the bar/breakfast area, where I'm currently sitting with Cortado in hand, lovely Jazz playing, Breakfast service is closed, but they make an exception, it's a feeling of personalized exclusivity.
The food. You won't feel guilty about not eating at other places in Madrid, the food is the best I've had in Madrid thus far, the 2 Brothers Restaurant is absolutely out of this world, If you're wanting to Wine and Dine a lady, or dazzle a client - This is the place.
You'll notice each staff member place their hand on their heart and look at you directly when they greet you.
This Hotel is for you, they're here. For you.

Great 5 star experience. Location is awesome, center of Madrid, close to Gran via and all the shopping and restaurants. Staff is great and service as well. We had a problem where we needed to checkout but was at hospital - the staff let us until 19:00 in the hotel without charge, shapeau. Very recommended.

I have been lucky enough to stay in some great hotels all over the world. The Gran Melia in Madrid is among the finest. In every way it is excellent the staff cannot do enough and are extremely pleasant . The food fabulous especially the breakfast just amazing. Anyone who stays just cannot be disappointed in anyway. A very special hotel which could teach so much to so many.

Excellent hotel. Great location for sightseeing, close to most of Madrids tourist hot spots. The rooms are quiet at night, no disturbance from outside despite its central location.
The hotel itself is very fresh and the interior design is very elegant. There is also a rooftop pool to be enjoyed during summers.
When booking make sure to get the 'red level' access. If will get you breakfast, refreshments, snacks and spirits until 23.00 every day in a separate lounge.
I also experienced the staff as very helpful and nice.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Terrific hotel, rooms are quite large for Europe. The executive lounge is extremely nice and always has tapas and good snacks, plus an open bar with plenty of drinks including champagne. The breakfast restaurant is quite nice and there is a restaurant with a Michelin chef in the hotel. Bathrooms were nice and the bedding was nice. Service was outstanding.

We celebrated our wedding. All the staff was very kind and made everything easier. They were helpful and kind at ll the times. Always willing to help and providing solutions to our requests. The wedding menu was awesome, served at the right time and temperature. Having visited other hotels around the world, this one is at the same level of Raffles Singapore. The rooms are large and the decoration is warm and cozy, Highly recommendable.

We had a very nice dinner at their terrace. We were a party of nice and we had the sample menu. The personal attention and dishes were excellent. My friends had the regular menu and I had the vegetarian option. It was good, though not as "special" as the regular one.

We chose this hotel because we saw the high ratings online; however, we were extremely disappointed by the service of this hotel when we checked in.
I put my medication in the luggages, and I told the front desk that I would like my luggages as soon as possible. I waited for 15 minutes in my room for the luggages, desperately wanting to take the medication. While having never imagined that it would take that long for them to deliver my luggages, I called the reception, politely informing them I would like the luggages ASAP. After another five minutes wait, I called the reception again, and this time they told me again that they would "call again" to check on my luggages.
I got quite confused by what they were saying since it's apparent that the concierge and the place they put my luggage is, so why would they even "call" to check on my luggages instead of just asking the colleagues right there? Nonetheless, I waited and waited and realized that the only way for me to get my luggages was to go down and get the luggages my self.
So when I went down, I saw that my luggages were literally two steps away from the reception and concierge, and apparently nobody had yet the intention to send them upstairs after my 20 minutes wait... and the lady at the concierge stayed indifferent and just looked at me when I started to pull all my luggages to the elevator.
Well, if it were not for that I need my medication in the luggages, I would not call twice, insist and emphasize that I need my luggages ASAP despite of a half an hour wait (while a half an hour wait for luggages is definitely not common and not what we would expect for a five star hotel). Although their response was polite, I think the hotel should learn to take their customers seriously instead of just acting perfunctorily, given that I've been said the same thing three times, and I really mean it.
When we checked out, I asked the front desk to call a taxi to the airport, and he asked what terminal it is. I have no idea of which terminal it is and I don't have the ticket with me, so I asked if he can search it for me given that I know the flight company. He said again that his colleague would help me search for it, but it turned out that they did nothing about it, so I have to get on the taxi and search it myself.
This is the first time that I see a five star hotel act so perfunctorily according to their customers' demand, and I'm also shocked especially because it has such a high rating. So if you are considering staying here right now, my suggestion is to be prepared of their attitude and their real deed behind the scene.
Finally, two stars just for their comfortable bed.

A seemingly new hotel in Madrid, the P de los D oozes history, store and class. From the marble reception area to the huge bar area, everything has been carefully considered - only the fact that each lift don't serve every floor counts as a negative.
Find your room and it's glorious, with more space than most European city hotels. Replica classic artworks sir behind the bed, reminding you that this is a historic city, with a card detailing what the picture is and who the artist was left on the desk. A nice touch.
The bed is as you'd expect - huge and comfortable - while the bathroom is glass walled, but does have a privacy curtain to go around it.
Sadly I didn't eat at the hotel, but the bar staff make a mean Old Fashioned cocktail, so that's good enough for me.

Nice location, old rooms and facilities. The simplest room is very very simple so we upgraded to a junior suite. I don't like it because i prefer the modern look.

Excellent location. Friendly, helpful staff. Reasonable breakfast. The hotel needs some loving attentions let alone maintenance. Quality of paintwork on the hotel front door is a good expression of the general problem. In the rooms the furniture is worn and the bathrooms tired, no extraction, dated rust coloured sanitary ware, broken marble vanity etc. Feels like a old 3 star hotel...
If there is a better place to stay in Madrid we will never find out. Because we will always return here. Sara our gorgeous host was most helpful. The rooms the rooftop pool the breakfast bar and lounge simply beautiful. All the rest of the staff were very helpful and we didn’t need for anything. The rooms the room service the room layout just a pleasure to come back to after a solid day of exploring this beautiful city.
