Fantastic hotel! Amazing how many things you can call up to the room for free. From makeup wipes to a straightener, even a tampon! 3rd floor had a lounge for free coffee, tea & water as well as snacks such as pretzels, Hershey kisses, fruit. Definitely recommend. One complaint was trying to get late check out and being told no. Especially since it’s a Sunday. We weren’t allowed to stay even half an hour longer

I was here for work and the location was great. Central to everything and a very nice updated room. I took away a star because I wasn't informed at check in that I needed to use my room key for the elevator and they do not offer any type of continental breakfast.

The hotel is very modern. Staff is friendly. Room and common areas are well kept and clean. My room is particularly tiny, fitting one queen bed. The vanity is small leaving little space for toiletries. The water closet and shower doors cannot be open at the same size (because of the limited space). The walk-in shower is spacious but wets the entire bathroom floor when you walk out of the shower. The closet is very small, more of a cubby set, too short for long dresses. The bed is low to the ground (I'm 5'3" and it doesn't come up to my knee). The list of complementary items is extensive if you forget anything. The restaurant on the bottom floor is very nice and the new rooftop bar is a very cool space.

Modern, clean with friendly staff and a delicious restaurant on the ground floor. Good location, in the Loop area of downtown Chicago. Try the AIRE Rooftop Bar for nice views of the city in a relaxed, quiet atmosphere. Gym was small but decent.

We had a wonderful experience staying at the Hyatt Centric. The staff was amazing. They were all friendly, helpful, and very professional. The location allowed us to walk to many of the great attractions in Chicago. We were in town for a wedding and occupied 32 rooms. Everyone had an amazing experience. The staff took care of all our needs, from a 4 month old infant to two 88 year old grandparents. We highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel was beautiful and amazing. Very clean and spacious. Loved the amenities and deep tubs. We let the staff know it was our anniversary and were upgraded to a deluxe room with a city view. I can’t wait to stay here again when I’m in town.

Pros:
Great downtown location. Modern decor, clean rooms. Small lobby, but the hotel makes up for it with an area called the corner, with latte machine, snacks papers, TVs, couches. Very friendly staff. Very nice bathroom with large shower.

Cons:
Spotty maid service, every day of 8 days they overlooked something. One day no vacuum, another day no washcloths, etc. Mattress and bedding were not that nice. More befitting the extended stay hotel quality then a 4 star downtown hyatt. Small thing but they do not use fitted sheets on the mattress, so they tend to come undone if you toss a lot. Also they only single sheet the bed so if you like to cover up with a sheet you have to ask for it. Small things yes, but street noise coupled with less than ideal bedding can make it hard to sleep.

Stayed two nights at the Hyatt Centric in a Deluxe Queen High Floor Corner room and loved it! The corner view was very nice and and so unique! The both the front desk and cleaning staff were very courteous and helpful. The room was chic and modern bit still felt comfortable which sometimes gets lost when a hotel tries to be "too cool." The location was great, close to Millennium Park and some great restaurants. Can't wait to go back!

A very nice hotel. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful. The rooms are very modern and we'll fitted. The bathrooms we're beautiful and the bed was so very comfortable. The view from my room was very lackluster however I didn't spend much time looking out it. I really enjoyed the hotels roof top bar with some spectacular views of the city. Highly recommend staying here.

The hotel is extremely clean and beautiful! I love all the extras that are available.. my room was chilly when I got in, I love the warm hoodie-like robe that is provided! I got here early from and long trip and was welcomed sweetly and too my surprise my room was already available! It’s nice and quiet and the bed is surprisingly comfortable! We will stay here again when we’re in town!

The hotel is very nice and very modern. The only complaint I have about the rooms is the "closet" is more like a cubby hole; if you are a woman with longer dresses, they probably are going to touch the bottom when hung up. The beds are very comfortable, but they are a bit low to the ground, so some guest may find it difficult to get up in the mornings. The bathroom is space efficient, but very nice and clean. There is a wide variety of complementary items the hotel offers if you forget something. The restaurant and bar on the first floor is very good, the staff have all been friendly for the most part.

Excellent hotel. I stayed here for 5 days and throughout my stay, all the hotel staff were extremely helpful and nice. The snack bar on the 3rd floor (called the corner) is a nice touch for healthy and indulgent options.
The only reason for deducting a star is that the parking prices are outrageous - verging on gouging: valet is $66 per night! The self park option isn’t better at $48 a block away. The good news is that you can find other parking lots within 6-8 min walks for less than $20 per day.

A great meal all around. The service and food were both great. The food and menu left nothing to want, and well everything we had was good, certain elements like the cauliflower were excellent. The portion sizes are pretty large, we all had leftovers. Cocktails are inventive and not run of the mill.
Worth a visit for sure.

The staff are quite pleasant and accommodating. We appreciated the peaceful floor and having access to The Corner. We rate 4 stars because the rooms are small with too much furniture and the bathrooms are small also. And most importantly, the bed mattresses are just too hard and the pillows are too flat-loss their fluff.

very clean, very modern, very spacious. Staff are friendly. The elevators would take me to any floor save the one my room was located on. Shower only in my room, no tub. Very nice for someone who is into form over function.

We went for a 1 night trip to see Hamilton and check out the Christkindle Market. The hotel is 2 blocks from the theater, and 3 from the market. Walkable from everywhere we visited/ate. Check in was easy, the hotel room was nice and modern. They had a nice lounge with drinks and snacks. There was a mini fridge for our leftovers (a must when we visit Chicago).

My boyfriend and I stayed here during a weekend trip to see Hamilton at the CBIC Theater and it was a great stay. Perfect location, being all of a block and a half away from the theater. Plus a 10-15 minute walk from all the touristy things, like Willis Tower and Millennium Park made it simple to explore everything. The service was superb. Upon arrival, the associate at the front desk was efficient and courteous. While checking us in, he ever made several recommendations of local events that would be worth going to. And late the first night, upon realizing that I had neglected to pick my toothbrush and comb, the staff quickly rushed spares up to my room. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Chicago loop area.

After reserving a room at the Hyatt Centric in The Loop area of Chicago in advance, I finally checked into the hotel at around 3:20 on the 25th of November, 2017 with a lady friend of mine. The young gentleman (his name was Daniel) who checked us into the room was very professional, friendly, and courteous which is exemplary considering it was the third day into the Thanksgiving weekend. I'm sure that working on long holiday weekends must be mentally exhausting to anybody in the service industry. I would also like to say that ALL of the other staff that both myself and the lady I was traveling with had interaction with during our stay there were all very friendly. The young lady working as the bartender in the hotel's ground floor bar was friendly as were her co-workers that were also working in the bar area. The doorman on duty when I checked in on Saturday afternoon as well as the doorman on duty when I checked out on Sunday morning were also very professional and courteous. Before commenting on the quality of the hotel, I first wanted to emphasis how awesome the hotel staff was, because they represent the standards of the hotel name. Now, as far as the quality of the room is concerned, well that was also first rate all the way. The room was immaculately cleaned and quite aesthetically pleasing upon entering. The mattresses were very very soft and extremely comfortable. The feather filled pillows and the extremely soft comforter were also top notch as far as comfort goes. Basically everything about the hotel was TOP NOTCH QUALITY. I paid for a room on a higher floor to avoid the street noise and even with the window opened we were well above all the hustle and bustle sounds of motor traffic within The Loop area of Chicago. On any future endeavors to Chicago that require spending the night, I will be staying at Hyatt Centric for sure because of my positive experience there. To any of the employees who work at this illustrious location I just want to say, stay awesome guys and gals! Your positive attitudes are the reason I decided to take time to write out such a drawn out review.
Here is a photo I took from the room looking down on the street from my 20th floor room to give others some kind of idea of the wonderful view of the city that the upper floors have to offer.

I stayed here during a long weekend get away with my partner.

I felt like I was staying in an office. But in a good way. We were in a corner room, with a somewhat odd and elongated layout with a great view down West Monroe St. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The room was immaculate. The shower pressure and temperature uniformly pleasant. The service was always friendly.

I think we would have wanted something a little more cozy and/or romantic; but if I were staying in Chicago for business I would really want to stay here again.

I stayed here back in December of last year and it was awesome! Easy and fast check in. Stayed on the 13th floor (creepy) but we had great views. Had to leave a day early since it started to snow profusely, but the staff was very helpful on when we should leave and if we needed an extra night stay. It's probably less than a 10 minute walk to the bean so the location was great. Wish I could stay here again for my next trip, but the check in age fluctuates. Would definitely recommend!

This was our first visit to the city and we were very pleased with this hotel. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Upon checking in, we were told we had been upgraded to a corner king room. It was very nice! It was extremely spacious and the bed was very comfortable! The only negative I would say is that it’s close to a hospital and there is some ambulance siren noise, but wasn’t too often. The concierge was very helpful with planning things to do. We also received a free buffet breakfast which was great!! The hotel is extremely convenient to shopping and restaurants. There’s even a Starbucks on the street level. I would definitely stay there again!!

Great location but just like all downtown hotels expect to pay $66.00 per day for valet parking. The city parking garages are street parking will cost $45.00 per day. Hotel is nice and modern. Rooftop bar and lobby bar/restaurant. Bed was not that comfortable to me but my wife liked it so that is of course subjective.

Friendly and attentive staff. Great atmosphere. Modern style hotel rooms with all the expected amenities. The rooftop bar has spectacular views of the skyline and individual fireplaces for each sitting area. If you decide to stay here, I recommend you look in the closet. Tucked away in there is the softest, most luxurious robe you could ask for. It is a creature comfort that I did not expect and thoroughly enjoyed.

Awesome location. Clean hotel. Bed was to DIE FOR. Breakfast was very yummy. I attended Activate at the Hyatt and the gentleman tending to the line for people visiting the rooftop bar was extremely kind and helpful in directing us where to go and assisting us when he noticed we were headed in the wrong direction. The building itself was beautiful and easy to navigate with a fantastic view. The bathroom facilities were also very well maintained.

The hotel is very chic, and very well renovated. I did not want to leave after my visit due to the central location, excellent customer service, Aire rooftop bar, fantastic restaurant, the Corner lounge, and overall charm of the hotel.

During my stay I was originally placed in room 612. Unfortunately, the air conditioner rattled and in general was very loud. The front desk allowed me to switch rooms, provided concierge, and comped complimentary food and beverage discounts for the inconvenience. I didn't request this, but it was immediately offered!

Overall, I felt that all staff for the hotel cared about the customer experience, and wanted to ensure everyone had an enjoyable stay. I would recommend this hotel and I would visit again.

Ideal local for business or leisure. The hotel is located at walking distance from many of the city attractions. It is also conveniently located from restaurants and Walgreen.
The staff at the hotel was wonderful and attentive to my needs.
The "corner room" on the fourth floor was properly stocked with snacks and it was nice a place to relax.
You can also find cheap parking not too far from the hotel. The address for the parking place is 640 West Washington. The cost for 12 hour parking was $10.35
Highly recommended!

So impressed by this place. Would give 6 stars if I could. Arrived in the morning after an early flight, and they were able to get me to a room right away. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness in the room design is obvious. Everything I want (power outlets, blazing fast wifi, water & Keurig machine in my room) and nothing I didn't need. I had a good 4-night stay at the Hyatt while visiting for a conference.

I was put in a room near the elevator that faced another building and had workers outside the window who would occasionally pas by the room. This surprised me because the hotel did not seem busy at any point in my stay. However, I did not ask for a new room, so I don't know what would have happened if I had.

The room also seemed fairly small for a king hotel room, but this is probably typical in the city. It was very modern, with an interesting bathroom set-up. The toilet and shower were on opposite sides of the bathroom, each behind their own door, with the sink in the middle.

The best thing about this hotel was the bed. It was one of the comfiest beds I have slept in! I have done quite a bit of traveling lately, and it seems many hotels are moving away from duvets and towards a blanket between two sheets (easier to clean I assume). This duvet was heavenly, as were the pillows. Some may not like the fact that the bed is so low (no box spring), but I didn't mind.

The biggest con was the wait for the elevator. There were ample elevators but it always seemed to take a while for them to come and, when they arrived, they did not make a sound. I was therefore very vigilant to elevator arrival and, on a handful of occasions, the button was no longer illuminated but the elevator never came! Not sure what that was about.

We booked this hotel last minute via Priceline on our way into Chicago. We were hesitant at first because we never heard of this particular hotel. We were pleasantly surprised!

We called ahead to ask the front desk a question and the young lady who answered the phone was very courteous. Valet parking was available directly in front of the hotel entrance. It was similarly priced to other downtown overnight valet services.

Upon arriving we were greeted at the front door by a friendly doorman and valet. Our check-in was smooth. I believe the same woman who answered the phone was helping us do so.

Our room was very spacious and clean. We were shocked at the ample breathing room in this downtown hotel. The bathroom was impressive, and while low, the bed was comfortable.

Ideal location for accessing the Magnificent Mile, Lakeshore Trail and the "L" for getting to other Chicago attractions. One "weird" thing was the hotel room did not have any drawers to tuck away personal items. Not sure if this is the new style within hotels, but I was surprised I had to leave my socks and underwear on the counter!

8
Very nice rooms. Our room was near the elevator and it was loud. They should do a better job of sound proofing those closer to heavy traffic areas. I wasn't a huge fan of the beds they were too low to the ground but rooms overall were good. Front desk was accommodating and gave us a later check out. Elevators were a pain. They all access every floor so during busy times you may wait and have to pass up on stops because there was no room. We waited nearly 10 minutes at around 6pm. They should consider making certain elevators service only certain floors at a time. Decent stay overall.

Very cool aesthetic. The epitome of modern. Loved the entire bathroom situation (individual rooms for shower and toilet), and it was located very near to parking as well as the Privatebank theater. Bed was way too low to the ground, and we both woke up with stiff backs, which are our only complaints. This section of the city just shuts down on the weekend though!
